happy birthday bro!

Thank You Bro for granting my Christmas wish! :-)

Noche Buena... I've been thinking of something special to eat and to serve to my family this Christmas eve. I dont like pork, beef, nor chicken so what's left is fish and veggie. After my shift i went ahead to SM supermaket since i have this (1000 sodexho gc, I just used the 500), I told myself that I'll just buy whatever comes to my mind but it needs to be a fish dish. The market was too crowded that I needed to wait couple of minutes just to get a cart and a basket. I kept pushing the cart, passed along every isle,.then all of a sudden I remembered that few days back I ate at chowking and ordered their P79 combo meals, there were 3 choices and what I selected was the one with the fish fillet, it was like i had this bulb lit up at the side of my head..i went to the fish section.. special thanks to Mon because I think he told me before that the best fish to use for fillets is the Cream Dory fish, well you know what happened next. I searched each and every stalls in the fish section, and lucky me.. I came and meet Dory, the frozen dory..hehe.. it's P195 for per kilo, not bad..as to compare to maya-maya which is like P250 to P300 per kilo, I just bought 1 kilo since it's just my first time to try it..then i bought bread crumbs and 1 Nestle all purpose cream for the white sauce. actually for the white sauce, I really dont know how to come up with the sour taste and the thikness of the cream..but I said, I got to try it I guess I just trusted my memory and my taste buds..it needs to look and taste like the ones I've eaten in fast foods and restaurants.

So here's how i did it..

Preparing the fish>>>

1. Since the fish was frozen, I needed to soak it to water for like 5 to 10 minutes (tap water will do) just for the ice to melt without damaging the meat of the fish.

2. I used Maggi magic sarap and a bit of salt, rubbed it all over the meat to give flavor, cut them to pieces (I came up with 16 large pieces) then left it for another 5 minutes.

Breading>>>

1. I used two beaten eggs, flour then the bread crumbs. The meat needs to be dipped in the egg then to the flour then to the bread crumbs.

Note: it is recommended to dip fry to avoid uneven color and it should be in a low-heat to make sure that the meat is cooked without overcooking the breading.

but it my case, I was not able to dip fry it because I ran out of oil but what I had was enough to cook it..at least..just the color was uneven :)

2. Once the bread crumbs turned to golden brown then it's done. You can use wax paper to absorb excess oil, or any clean paper will do..I used bond paper.

White Sauce>>>

Now here's the challenge for me, when I tasted it in chowking, it has sour creamy taste with a bit of garlic and green herb. So what I've used?:

all purpose cream
vinegar
salt
powdered pepper
finely minced garlic
celery (for the green herb)

Im sorry I cant tell this in detailed because I just did (tantsa tantsa) until i came up with the taste and the look as I remembered it and guess what? It tasted so similar to what they have in chowking,.. I was so happy.. :-)

I was able to finish the dish at around 11:30, I served it of course at 12am, I was lucky that i was able to take a picture of what it looked like before they're gone to our tummies.. and the taste?? it was awesome..Mon is correct, the dory fish is so tasty and has soft meat, just the way I liked it when I eat fish.. Merry Christmas to all!!! :)

i like bitches.. ;-)

I'm really not into reading, but this specific book got my attention. It is titled Why Men Love Bitches by Sherry Argov, the book is actually Manettes and I was already aware that she has it and was also done reading it, I guess I was just not interested with it that time. Let's just say that I came to some point (in my love life) that made me seek some advise on how to handle such relationship (boys vs girls) situations, and I remembered this book. I started reading it and it really talked to me as if i was really listening to someone who's discussing about how to stay WHOLE in a relationship. To give the title a dignified meaning, Sherry defined BITCH as-- a kind and yet strong woman, has a strength that is ever so subtle, doesn't give up her life and wont chase a man. She wont let a man think that he has 100% HOLD on her, so to sum it all up, a Bitch is a woman who wont let anybody especially men to step over her femininity. Well you maybe asking what did it do with the situation I was in, well..it just gave me something to think about, made me realize things, and most importantly it reminded me NOT to ever forget to love yourself.

I recommend this book to those women who think they've given too much in a relationship and wishing to, although not really requiring, for a fair treatment from their man.

>>I would just like to share.. this is one of the phrases I liked the most in the book--

"One of the things about equality is not that you be treated equally to a man, but that you treat yourself equally to the way you treat a man."

makes a lot of sense right??.. :)

last minute blow out

our friend nizeth who's now our ex-office mate ended her contract with sitel today, we were actually not informed about her plans of resigning but she has her reasons and maybe going to be our reasons as well in the coming year.. hehehe..

it poked me

It's been almost 2 months now since i did my last post i guess it is because i was totally hooked up with Facebook especially with the games, no need to mention because i know almost everyone knows them., well let me just give some recap of what happened within the last couple of months and what Im in now:

FAMILY: my mom went back home with us (for good), she quit her job because it seemed that my power in raising my little brother was not that effective in terms of guiding him at school since i also have to go to work everyday and barely focus on him with his studies. my father, he's still in the province taking care of my uncle's business, has not visited us back since my brother graduated in march (which I completely understand) i wish he'll get a chance to go home this christmas.

WORK: still with sitel, turned 5 years this year and just this week, i got to meet my new coach and new team mates because of the shift bid.

LOVE LIFE: well.. not that too colorful, but also not dull.

PLANS: im thinking, thinking and still thinking to resign next year for better work opportunities, could still be locally or abroad if God's will.

that's pretty much for now, im really not that type of person who plans everything.

and before i forget, the thing that poked me to resuscitate my blog is the Julie/Julia Project, from the movie Julie and Julia which also happens to be a true story, I was just amazed and inspired on how Julie Powell used her passion in cooking with a big big help from blogging to redirect her life, to know her worth and to be greatful of the talents given to her.

may nang-scam samin, our phone is telepwede unit (prepaid) by pldt. earlier today may tumawag na pldt cus service daw sa house namin, looking for me kc sakin nakapangalan yung phone.

since wala ako sa amin yung tita ko ang sumagot. polite and professional nman daw yung rep, telling her that our line will be immediately cut and blacklisted to all telephone lines kapag hindi nai-settle yung payment na P900 na yearly enrollment fee daw nung line namin.

>>ang telepwede kc mag-loload ka ng phone through smart load din the usual cp loading system pati nubmer ng phone parang cellphone number din (11 digits).

so to give benefit of the doubt sa part namin, inoffer pa nung rep na mag-dial yung tita ko ng 171 to confim na legitimate yung concern nila.. BUT hindi na ibaba ng tita ko yung phone, so while the rep is still on the line i-dial dapat yung 171, so ginawa nman ng tita ko..

"good afternoon PLDT customer service im elaine" ganito pa daw yung sagot nung rep, so yun the rep confirmed na kelangan nga magbayad ng P900 for 7 months enrollment fee ng phone namin or else our line will be cut. nag-bigay ng new 11 digit # yung rep to serve as our new # dahil nga ma-ccut na raw yung luma.

then immediately after the conversation, na-cut yung dial tone namin..

so tumawag yung tita ko sakin kanina sa office, then she told me the story.. since sabi nya nman na confirmed na nila from PLDT mismo kc nga they dialed 171 at cut na yung linya nmin, I agreed na magbayad nlang.. d ko rin kc kabisado yung polocies nila I just took the word of my tita na nakausap na nya yung mga-taga PLDT.

nag-bayad yung tita ko ng P900 sa # na binigay sa kanya 09087829344 through usual smart load. then after that tumawag ulit yung tita ko sa pldt pero sa cus service mismo ng telepwede (10122) to confirm,, and to their surprise.. WALANG GANUNG POLICY..

e2 pa ang malupit.. after settling the P900, we got our dial tone back at tumawag ulit sila and said "THANK YOU SA LOAD.. ANG TATANGA NYO!"

too late.. we cant do anything anymore ofcourse, tapos na eh, nasa kanila na yung load.. i tried to call the # pero syempre d na rin gumagana..

alarming lang kc they have the capability to actually cut the subscriber's line. meaning taga-pldt din talaga sila..or may connection sila sa loob, i dont know.. i wrote this to serve as a warning and for others to be informed as well.. and sana ma-inform din ang PLDT management about this.

a bunch of thanks

it's been like a month now since ive updated my blog. well quite busy with facebook..hehehe.. i just want to say thank you to everyone who remembered my special day!! thanks to all of you! mwah...

a big fan of our very own

When i watch tv i always tune it to channel 7, so maybe i can say na KAPUSO ako. but i also watch some programs sa dos basta gusto ko ung palabas pero mas madalas sa 7. syempre we cant help help but compare, the stars, the programs especially sa mga singers ng mag-kabilang networks. every sunday, i see to it that i catch up sop, i love singing kasi kaya favorite ko rin manood ng mga singing performances. one thing that makes me watch sop every sunday is this new all-girl trio LA DIVA (Jonalyn Viray, Maricris Garcia and Aicel Santos). i think gma 7 made a very good decision to create this group, magaling sila talaga. what makes them stand out with other singers is that when they sing they make this blending of their voice, tatlo silang kumakanta, tatlong boses din ang maririnig mo pero tama lahat ng key, ang sarap pakinggan. i often feel goosebumps kapag pinapanood ko na sila.. i maybe over reacting but i really do feel it. ang hirap kaya mag-second voice noh, it's not something that everybody who sings (kahit professional pa) can do. sana mabigyan sila ng break because they can really be someone who will make Filipinos proud.

here's one of their performances and one of my favorites also.

watch, listen and be impressed. :)

>>>taas ng boses ni jonalyn ha... kaloka!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL MOMS!

I, manette and chinky have been editing our blog templates these past few days. It's like something that we're getting addicted into.. :) On my template, I was able to put some links like my friendster and facebook but then manette noticed that it doesnt open in a new window, she said it will be better if the links open up in new windows. Well she has a point for it gives convenience to readers to view links without actually leaving the main page, so I googled the html code for that, and for benefit of manette who also asked me to why not post the code instead. So here it is, I hope this helps. :)

note: images/bluefield.jpg is the example of the url of the link, and by using _blank in the HTML code, you will ensure that a new browser window will be opened each time the link is pressed.

i think it was from nanay (my lola) when she saw it on TV, that pandan leaves can be an effective cockroach repellent. ooopppsss... going back to my previous posts.. i love cockroaches,, i love screaming and running away from them whenever they're around. so when i heard about it, i immediateltly asked nanay to go buy a bunch of pandan leaves and try it. so she went ahead and buy some, just for experiment. we put it to places where roaches usually stay, in our house, they usually hide under the sink and in the cr. and guess what, it's really effective..it doesnt really kill the insect but there's something i it that drives cockroaches away. i tried to search it in wikipedia and i didnt find any proven studies that it is an insect repellent but what we did simply justified it. i also found an article (http://www.dailyexpress.com.my/news.cfm?NewsID=52160) about a group of students in Malaysia who invented pandan candles as an insect repellent and won the Young Inventor Award. now that we're really using it, i only see few like 1 or 2 cockroaches in each areas in our house where we tried it into..and im so happy..hahaha..i also put some in my room. i just dont know what's in that plant, given the fact that it is even being used as food flavoring to add tasty aroma. well, im not really interested with that anymore.. what more important is i found my hero..hihihi.. so of course im recommending it to other people, especially those who have some kind of phobia like me.

done with my new template

well, finally.. done with my blog's new look. maybe not so good but im ok with it..so light and simple.. i like it, for now..hehehe..

reconstruction

I want to give my blog a new look so i tried to edit it , since im not used in changing my template very so often i ended up reconstructing it again. I'd lost some of my settings, html codes and other things. I've been looking for this website that Manette used to go to when she edits her template, so I texted her asking for the url of that site, then she replied a url. I tried it but it did not get me to the correct page, then she texted me again.. "anu na-access mo ba?" I replied, "d nga eh, sira yata".. then another text from her. "ana si donell nagttxt sau" then she gave the correct address.. I was like.. ok (i knew it..hehehe)... (im sure tawa ng tawa ung nagtxt na yun when i replied na d ko ma-access yung site).. so to cut the story short, i wasnt able to finish editing. i got sleepy. so i went to bed.

'love this poem

it was in comms training when i first heard this poem, mary jane (our trainer) shared this poem as part of the lecture and it inspired me since then because the character is very brave and positive. (my ideal attitude towards love) it was written by Paolo Neruda and was also narrated by Madonna.

If You Forget Me
by: Paolo Neruda

I want you to know one thing.

You know how this is: if I look at the crystal moon,

at the red branch of the slow autumn at my window,

if I touch near the fire

the impalpable ash or the wrinkled body of the log,

everything carries me to you,

as if everything that exists,

aromas, light, metals, were little boats that sail toward

those isles of yours that wait for me.

Well, now,

if little by little you stop loving me

I shall stop loving you little by little.

If suddenly you forget me do not look for me,

for I shall already have forgotten you.

If you think it long and mad,

the wind of banners that passes through my life,

and you decide to leave me at the shore of the heart

where I have roots,

remember that on that day,

at that hour,

I shall lift my arms

and my roots will set off to seek

another land.

But

if each day,

each hour,

you feel that you are destined for me with implacable sweetness,

if each day a flower climbs up to your lips to seek me,

ah my love, ah my own,

in me all that fire is repeated,

in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten,

my love feeds on your love, beloved,

and as long as you live

it will be in your arms

without leaving mine.

foot trip

it's our pay day, after office we passed by megamall as usual. celani and i did withdraw money before going home. while in the line waiting for our turn in the atm, celani went "ana pa-foot spa tau??" and i answered "sure... mamaya". i agreed right away for a reason that i havent done it before and! and! i have money...hehehe.. so we went straight to the salon for a foot spa.. i mean my first ever foot spa.

we had our feet done at Refresh Salon in Monumento, the fees for their services are fairly cheap compared to others. like for the foot spa, they can pamper your feet for just a hundred bucks..with free massage pa yun ha.. i know that i really cannot compare since this is my first time, but it felt good and so relaxing... (inaantok na nga ako eh, pinigilan ko lang makatulog.. nakakahiya eh..hehe )

and there, celani also treated herself for a hotoil.. (bongga ng lola mo noh..)

prayer for a colleague

it's been a while since i wrote my last post. one of my team mates texted me last saturday that a colleague just passed away (Roseville Caluza), i didnt remember her name but since it's only few of us in our account im sure that i knew her by face, then i saw her pictures on blogs (yah i do know and remember her) just wanted to offer a prayer for her and for the peace of her soul, although we were not "friends" indeed, given the fact that i know her, i see her few times a week, got to see and bumped with her in ladies room then say hi and hello still brought sadness to me. may the Lord continue to comfort her family and love ones to humbly accept that roseville is already at peace, resting with our creator.

God our Father,

Your power brings us to birth,

Your providence guides our lives,

and by Your command we return to dust.

Lord, those who die still live in Your presence,

their lives change but do not end.

I pray in hope for my family,

relatives and friends, and for all the dead known to You alone.

In company with Christ, Who died and now lives,

may they rejoice in Your kingdom, where all our tears are wiped away.

Unite us together again in one family,

to sing Your praise forever and ever.

Amen.
